March 26th, 2010 by carla_guillermoIf parents want to support their children on their university education, they need to have stable financial status. If not, application for loans can be an option just like PLUS loans. On the federal level, PLUS loans were originally made for the parents of undergraduate students where the previous name Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students Loan was got. In 2006, this kind of loan became available for the parents of Graduate and Post-Graduate Programs. This was good news for all the parents because these loans benefit the both the student and the parents. A good point with this loan is that as they obediently pay for whatever is lacking in funding for the student’s education, the parents can also begin the repayment of them immediately. There is also no grace period for repayment which means that you can consolidate them immediately if you like. Lastly, these loans have low interests and have flexible payment plans which are appealing to any borrowing parent.

March 25th, 2010 by carla_guillermoYou may have heard this one but do you agree with the idea that everyone has a right for good education? Well, if yes then the primary advocate for this kind of right is the parents. However, it is a sad fact that not all parents has the capacity to send their children to good universities and their need for financial aids greatly increases as time passes by. Good thing that the Direct PLUS Loan is now manageable online and it is intended for parents that assist their child’s education but required to be paid back. In times of financial hardship, parents can opt for postponing payments as long as the student is enrolled at least half time. The interest of this kind of loan can be tax deductible when parents make payments on the loan during the course of the tax year. Lastly, repayment begins 60 days after disbursement but parents can also start payments immediately.
